I believe that as a teacher I can make a difference. I believe that it is my responsibility to provide a safe, caring and learning environment. My beliefs in teaching are based on the following principles:

Every child can succeed and be challenged at their ability level.

Instructional strategies need to be adaptive and multi-faceted.

Children need to be taught how to think, not what to think.

Children need to be empowered to be responsible for their own learning.

Collaboration between home and school is essential for life-long learners.

Productive use of technology in the classroom gives children an awareness of world   around them.

Children should learn through real world experiences in order to provide a meaningful  understanding

A classroom should have a sense of community, where children are allowed to collaborate and share their discoveries.

Teachers need to model the same expectations they set for their students.

Providing children with choices provides them with ownership and motivation.

Kids are worth it!
