Finally, students should include a personal connection such as an example of something they can relate to with their famous person. At least three photos and a time line about their famous person should be included in this report. As we continue to prepare for the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning), students are given more and more information about the test. Information, practice and confidence will almost guarantee each child's success on the test.
The Famous Person Report will give us practice at school and home writing paragraphs that cover the"Writing Traits" . As well as writing practice, students will also learn about a variety of famous people!
Students will use a check list to make sure that all areas of their report are complete. The date indicated in each box is the date that the first draft should be completed and with the student on that day.
It is important that all time used in class is productive and that no student say that "their writing and information is at home". Much of the work on this report will be completed at school.
Students should keep all research information, prewriting and rough copies and check list in their writing folder. This folder should go home everyday and returned the next day. Final copies should not completed until all pieces (paragraphs) have been revised and edited by the student, peer, parent and Mr. Riley.
